True North Wild and Free
True North Wild and Free was a national celebration of Canada's boreal forest which took place across Canada in November 2004. Hosted by master storyteller James Raffan, these 10 evenings featured music, stories, images and poetry from a changing cast of great Canadians.
The show was based on a spectacular book, Rendezvous with the Wild - The Boreal Forest with contributions from Sarah Harmer, Cathy Jones, Thomas King, David Schindler, David Suzuki, Justin Trudeau and many more.
We're very pleased to announce that the book is the first hardcover in North America to be printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper. More information about the book is available here.
True North Wild and Free was a part of CPAWS' National Boreal Forest Program to conserve one of the last great forests left on Earth. All proceeds from tickets and book sales support our continued work to protect Canada's boreal forests.
True North Wild and Free was a continuation from the enormous success of 2003's Boreal Rendezvous, ten river-journeys that traveled across Canada's boreal forests with some of our most celebrated Canadians.
