New park in the Nahanni watershed

On April 7, CPAWS joined many, including the local Sahtu Dene and Métis, in welcoming the federal government's temporary protection of the NWT's Nahanni River headwaters to enable creation of a new national park, to be called Nááts'ihch'oh [pronounced naah-tseen-CHO]. The new park will adjoin the proposed expansion of Nahanni National Park Reserve, protecting the northern 20% of this globally renowned watershed.
