Dehcho First Nations support anticipated Nahanni Park expansion
Posted on June 25, 2008

The area surrounding the existing park was temporarily protected by the federal government nearly a year ago, while Parks Canada completed its consultation process.
The fate of this world famous ecological treasure is now in the hands of the federal government, which has not yet announced the new park boundaries.

Hi. I'm wondering if you could clarify something for me...
I see the DFN has released another statement regarding the MOU between Parks Canada and Canadian Zinc Corporation, but it's not clear to me what the MOU means. Is their mine within the park boundary, and a violation of the terms of the agreement Parks canada signed with the DFN? Any detail you could give me would be appreciated.
