Help make the final push to protect Nahanni

On August 8th, 2007 Prime Minister Harper announced the protection of 28,800 sq km of land for the expansion of Nahanni National Park Reserve. This is a huge step towards protecting the Nahanni.. However, more work remains to ensure this great step forward leads to permanent protection of the entire South Nahanni Watershed from mining and other industrial activity. Your continued support is needed more than ever!

One way you can help is by collecting signatures on a petition in support of protecting the entire Nahanni watershed.  Our goal is to have dozens of MPs standing up for the Nahanni in the House of Commons this fall.

Just contact us at nahanni@cpaws.org and we'll send you the formatted petition and a backgrounder that you can circulate at barbeques and other events this summer.

Canada's Parliamentary procedure dictates that any petition with at least 25 signatures submitted to an MP in the required format must be presented in Parliament. The more petitions we generate, the more often Nahanni will be present in the House of Commons this fall!

Thanks for your support!
