On May 9, CPAWS staff met with federal Environment Minister John Baird and presented him with 3500 signed postcards calling for protection of the Nahanni. CPAWS urged the Minister to act quickly on this request from thousands of Canadians to protect the entire South Nahanni watershed and Nahanni karstlands and to work with his Cabinet colleagues to stop mining activity within this treasured wilderness watershed. Over 6000 letters and postcards have been sent to the Environment Minister in the past year calling on him to save the Nahanni.
