Protection Extended and More Area for Manitoba Park Reserves!

Thanks For Your Support! We're one step closer to securing a healthy future for Manitoba's wild places.

On December 14th, after a CPAWS and Wilderness Committee campaign initiative, the Manitoba government announced extended protection for Sturgeon Bay, Pemmican Island, Kinwow Bay, Goose Islands, Grand Island, and Pelican Islands provincial park reserves. The Grand Island park reserve has been expanded to include Cormorant islands - a colonial nesting bird haven.

Now it's time for the Manitoba government to act on their long overdue commitment to achieve permanent designations for these wilderness areas based on consultations with local First Nations and input from all Manitobans.

Please commend the Manitoba government and ask them to take the next required steps toward permanent protection of these spectacular wilderness lands.
