Urban Foraging Hike - May 13, 2017

Join CPAWS and Bryan Dowkes on an urban foraging hike along the Rideau River. Bryan Dowkes is a wild food enthusiast with a passion for urban foraging and wild spaces both within the city and out. He has taught several classes in the Ottawa area on foraging basics. On this walk, Bryan will cover the ethical, ecological and safety principles necessary to forage responsibly in an urban setting. The walk will take 1.5-2 hours at a leisurely pace on most paved trails, and will cover a few of the most common and easily identifiable spring edibles in the Ottawa area. Dress comfortably for the weather, and feel free to bring a notebook and camera.

Meet at 9:00am on May 13, 2017 at the parking lot above Robinson Field off of Hurdman road, just past Robinson Ave. It is just below the Strathcona Heights community garden.

Suggested donation $5.
