Canada’s first national parks bucket list

Rainbow at the base of Takakkaw Falls, Yoho National ParkWe asked people what should make the bucket list for the top 100 dream experiences in Canada’s national parks… and wow did they respond! Canadians celebrated Parks Canada’s 100th birthday in a big way with over 1000 dreams submitted to this summer’s” Park Dreams Contest: What’s on your bucket list?” From Kluane to Terra Nova, and Auyuittuq to Yoho, people submitted dream experiences for every one of Canada’s 42 national parks. Submissions ranged from the daring to the serene. Some were poetic, while others were childhood dreams. Dreams were inspired by history and others written to inspire.

What dreams made the bucket list? For Auvalik Park, a dream to mush a team of dogs the length of Thompson River in the spring time conjured up desire. For Gros Morne National Park, a hike at dawn on the Long Range Traverse had people yearning. There are 98 other great dreams on the list. I invite you to get inspired for your next adventure by reading through Canada’s first National Parks Bucket list!
